Bjarke Mogensen made his debut as a soloist with the Munich Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13 in a live broadcast on the TV channel ZDF with millions of viewers.

In 2000 he won gold and the talent prize in the Berlingske Tidende Classical Music Competition, and the same year he was awarded the Jacob Gade Grant.

In 2006 Bjarke Mogensen was the winner of the DR2 competition for young instrumentalists, “Play for Life”, which was broadcast on Danish radio and TV.
The same year Bjarke won the Victor Borge Music Prize. Bjarke has also been awarded the Børge Schrøder and Hertha Finnerup music grant and the HRH Prince Henrik Foundation Grant. He has also been a prizewinner in international music competitions in Copenhagen (1996), Castelfidardo (Italy) and Benzheim (Germany).

In 2008 Bjarke was the winner of The Royal Danish Academys competition for singers and Instrumentalists. Bjarke Mogensen has worked as a soloist and chamber musician in most of Europe, from Reykjavik to Istanbul, in some of Europe’s biggest concert halls, and has also performed with world-famous musicians like Gidon Kremer, Augustin Dumay and Marc Coppey.
He has performed as soloist with orchestras and ensembles such as Kremerata Musica, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, RadioUnderholdningsOrkestret, Aarhus Sinfonietta and Danish Chamberplayers under the batons of conductors such as Lan Shui, John Storgårds and Jean Thorel. In addition Bjarke Mogensen has appeared in innumerable TV and radio broadcasts at home and abroad.

In the summer Bjarke was soloist on a recording with the Danish Radio Orchestra in works by Anders Koppel conducted by John Storgårds. The cd was released in spring 2008 on the label Dacapo-records. Bjarke has a repertoire which ranges wide – all the way from transcriptions of the classical music of composers such as Bach, Mozart, Scarlatti, Franck and Rachmaninov to a huge programme of original literature for the instrument by composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina, Edison Denisov, Luciano Berio, Per Nørgård and Vagn Holmboe.

Besides more ‘serious’ music Bjarke also takes great pleasure in playing music from the world of tango and eastern European folk music, which also has an important place in his repertoire. Through his great interest in the world of contemporary music, many composers dedicate compositions to Bjarke Mogensen entitling him the first perfomance of their work. Vandt i 2000 guld og talentpris ved Berlingske Tidendes Klassiske Musikkonkurrence og modtog samme år Jacob Gades legat.

I 2006 var Bjarke Mogensen vinder af DR2's konkurrence for unge instrumentalister, "Spil for livet", der blev fulgt på dansk Radio og TV. Samme år modtog Bjarke Victor Borges Musikpris.
Bjarke er desuden blevet tildelt Børge Schrøder og Hertha Finnerups store musiklegat og Hans Kongelige Højhed Prins Henriks Fonds legat. Prismodtager ved internationale musikkonkurrencer i København (96'), Castelfidardo (Italien) og Benzheim (Tyskland).

I 2008 var Bjarke Mogensen vinder af Det Kgl. Danske Musikkonservatoriums konkurrence for sangere og instrumentalister. Bjarke Mogensen har virket som solist og kammermusiker i det meste af Europa, fra Reykjavik til Istanbul, i nogle af Europas største koncertsale og har desuden optrådt sammen med verdenskendte musikere som Gidon Kremer, Augustin Dumay og Marc Coppey.

I efteråret 2007 blev der sendt en portræt-udsendelse på DR af Bjarke Mogensen hvor han bl.a. optrådte i duo med Gidon Kremer på Kunstmuseumet Louisiana. Som solist har han samarbejdet med bl.a. Kremerata Baltica, DR-Radiosymfoniorkestret, Radio-Underholdnings Orkestret, Sjællands Symfoniorkester, Århus Symfoniorkester, Storstrøms Kammerensemble og Tango Orkestret under ledelse af dirigenter som Lan Shui, John Storgårds og Jean Thorel.
Derudover har Bjarke Mogensen optrådt i utallige udsendelser på TV og radio i både ind- og udland. Bjarke har i sommers indspillet en cd som solist med Radiosymfoniorkestret for Dacapo-records. Cd'en indeholder værker af Anders Koppel under ledelse af den finske dirigent John Storgårds.
